Grow a Great Crop

Rock the tomato patch this year!

Hey there!

I'm Emma Biggs

I'm a Gen Z gardener with a passion for tomatoes. Along with managing a tomato crop at a Toronto urban farm for several years, I've grown 200+ tomato varieties in my own yard. I was recognized by Garden Making Magazine as one of the "green gang" making a difference in horticulture, and Landscape Ontario with the Garden Communicator's Award.

I have also had my own tomato seed business, along with an annual tomato plant sale focused on unusual varieties. I've worked the speaking circuit for gardening shows and events, talking about growing vegetables, and especially tomatoes! I interview tomato experts on The Food Garden Life Show. I'm the author of the book 'Gardening with Emma.'

I hope you'll join me in this course to geek out on tomatoes!

Hey there!

I'm Steven Biggs

I'm a home vegetable gardening expert, horticulturist, and former horticulture instructor with Durham and George Brown Colleges in Canada. I was recognized by Garden Making Magazine as one of the "green gang" making a difference in horticulture.

My passion is helping people grow food at home. My own Toronto yard includes a driveway container garden, rooftop container garden, wicking beds (that allow me to grow my tomatoes right under a black walnut tree!), and cold frames.

I've been giving workshops and doing interviews about growing veg since 2011, when my book No Guff Vegetable Gardening got me onto the speaking circuit. I've been quick to replace lawn with veg wherever I've lived.

I'd love it if you join Emma and me to dig into all sorts of very fun tomato-growing ideas.

What Our Students Say

“Steve made container gardening look easy. He showed us how to make and water containers with materials we already have lying around the house. What I've always loved about Steve's classes is he gives a lot of examples. We are shown many ways we can grow things to suit our lifestyles and skillsets. I find it very inspiring. I can't wait for the snow to melt so I can place a bunch of self-watering pots (and a straw bale or two) on my driveway. ”

“Love the self-paced masterclass. I love doing it that way -- I can stop and click pics and go get coffee!! I just loved all the great veggie gardening ideas. Everything!”

“I came to feed my interest in food gardening, and left with my interest raised 10-fold. You present so well and clearly. I will be back!”

FAQ

  • I already grow tomatoes. Is this for me?

We go through a wide range of growing ideas to set you up for success. Basic tips and in-depth techniques. Including the growing season, direct sun, well draining soil, organic matter in the soil, pruning excess plant growth, consistent watering, organic mulch, full sun vs a few hours of sun, indeterminate varieties, and determinate types. We also talk about containers, everything from how to keep the soil moist without daily watering, drainage holes, and choosing a potting mix. If you want to brush up on any of these, this class is for you.

  • How long do I have access to the material?

You have unlimited access for 1 year.

  • What's the online community that's included with Tomato Overload?

The Food Garden Gang community is for students currently enrolled in our courses. We have Q+A areas for a number of topics, including container gardening and vegetable gardening. You can ask your questions, and share your wins.

  • What currency are your prices in?

    Canadian dollars.

(Which might make this even better value if you're outside of Canada! Even though many online businesses worldwide charge USD...I just don't like paying USD when shopping in Canada. That's why I charge C$.)

  • What if this isn't for me?

We’ll give you a full refund within 30 days of purchasing the course if you feel that it's not for you. No questions asked.
