Steven Biggs

Steven Biggs was recognized by Garden Making Magazine as one of the "green gang" making a difference in horticulture. His passion is incorporating edible crops into home gardens. His Toronto yard includes a driveway straw-bale garden, rooftop kitchen garden, wicking beds, fruit plantings ... and a lot of fig plants. He works as a horticulturist, college instructor, broadcaster, and author.

He started sharing his passion for growing figs in cold climates with his 2012 award-winning book Grow Figs Where You Think You Can't. He has written articles about figs for Fine Gardening, Garden Making, and Edible Toronto magazines. He lectures about growing figs for botanical gardens and garden clubs. His newest book is Growing Figs in Cold Climates: 150 of Your Questions Answered.
